Description
EBON ARCANUM is my Atmospheric Black Metal project that I started in 2013. It is heavily dependent on the use of keyboards, using distorted guitars only for backing rhythm tracks, mostly. A combination of depressive, atmospheric, and ambient black metal, the compositions are meant to conjure vivid images within the listener’s mind and take you on an esoteric journey through the emptiness of space, the most mysterious of realms, and the rawness of human emotion.

Biography
Ebon Arcanum was established in 2012 when I wanted to try my hand at another genre after writing folk metal for Northsong for two years, though it is technically my third solo project. Funnily enough, Ebon Arcanum originally came about after I learned about minor triads on guitar. I experimented for a bit, and after writing some black metal songs on-and-off for about 2 years, I had enough material for a debut EP. For extra “kvlt factor”, I recorded the six tracks in a dark, cold basement with a knockoff Stratocaster on an old laptop. When all was said and done, I released the debut EP, “Awakening“, on May 26, 2014.
After I moved to Argentina in 2015, I began work on new material for Ebon Arcanum and planned to complete enough songs for a full-length release, following a release pattern similar to Northsong. This full-length is still in the beginning phases, but in the meantime, I released a re-recorded version of Awakening, titled “Reawakening” on March 13th, 2021. The intention of this re-recording was to clear the mud off of the original songs and breathe new life into them. The newer versions have a lot less reverb and much clearer production, yet the original atmosphere of the music is still present.
