Northsong – “Oblivion” New Song Premiere

The wait for new music is finally over and I’m happy to share a brand new Northsong track titled “Oblivion”.

As the first new track from Northsong in over five years, Oblivion has a lot of expectations to meet. Oblivion is, if I remember correctly, the first song I finished for the new album that wasn’t originally from the Forgotten Tales EP.

I used a different kind of lyrical concept for this song, making it about someone who has to lead the way for his people after a major catastrophe happens to his society/world, forcing them to rebuild from the ashes. Of course, the song got its name from my favorite game, The Elder Scrolls IV.

Despite being a new song after a long hiatus, Oblivion carries that same old Northsong flair with a big, epic sound, folky undertones, and of course the brutal growls and screams that give the music a sharp edge. Over the years I’ve been improving my production skills as well, which I hope shine through on this track and all the others coming with the new album.
