In this post I wanted to lay out some more details about the upcoming Ebon Arcanum album, Reawakening.
Yesterday, I finished mixing and mastering Reawakening, and I uploaded the final version to both Bandcamp and Songtradr, which is the service I use to get my music on platforms like Spotify. As previously mentioned, the album will be released on Bandcamp FIRST on March 13th.
You can pre-order the album for just $1 on Bandcamp and you’ll immediately be notified when it’s released. From there, you’ll be able to download the full album and you’ll also be able to stream it through the Bandcamp website or app. But, most of you probably know how Bandcamp works by now. In any case, the album will still be $1 after release, though I plan to make it free a few months down the road as I always do.
On March 21st, Reawakening will become available on Spotify and many other platforms. I wanted to release it a bit later on these platforms, since I imagine most people use Spotify to stream and download their music for free to begin with. This way, you can choose to pay to get a copy of the album the moment it’s released, and you’ll have to wait a little longer to get it for free through other platforms.
Lastly, I just wanted to say that I’m really excited for this release, since I think the new versions of these songs are vastly superior to the originals! Despite all my other music and projects, I’ve always had a special place in my heart for “Awakening”, and I can’t wait to share Reawakening with all of you so you can hear these songs as they were never heard before – crisper, clearer, and without the crazy amounts of reverb the originals had. When I go back to Awakening to compare, I honestly can’t believe I was okay with those mixes back then. Everything was so “covered in mud” that you could hardly tell there was music underneath it all to begin with. Now, I feel as if these songs are finally getting the justice they deserve, and you’ll hear the difference the second you press play.
