It has still been a couple of months since the Shadowforge EP, and half a month since the release of Gravelord’s EP. You’re probably all wondering when I’ll stop focusing on new projects and get back to the older ones.

Like I mentioned before, Northsong‘s upcoming album, “Northern Winds & Winter Hymns” already has all the instruments finished and I just need to record vocals, which I’ve already started on a little bit.

Ebon Arcanum still has “Reawakening” in the works as well. Instruments are finished for that too, but I still need to record vocals – though it will be a much smaller job than the Northsong album. Currently, I’m going to prioritize Reawakening, then focus 100% on the Northsong album.

The problem with recording vocals for me is that I live in an apartment on a busy street in a busy city, I’m a husband and father, and I also have to work during the week – so not only is it hard to find time to record, it’s rare that the time I do find is quiet. Even then, I’m doing my best to adapt and roll with the punches. When it’s not quiet and my wife, my son, and I are all relaxing in our bedroom, I’m using a lot of that time to make new music for all of my projects. I don’t really need silence for that when my guitar is direct input and I have headphones to hear everything.

I can write new music in almost any environment, it’s the vocal recording part that relies a lot on external circumstances. So in short, just because I’m working on writing new music doesn’t necessarily mean I’m ignoring the backlog of albums I still need to finish – I’m just dedicating quiet time to vocal recordings for the announced albums when I get it, and writing new music for future releases when I don’t.

Anyway, I just wanted to clear all that up. I like to be transparent with everyone who follows me and my work. I don’t want you guys to think I’m getting lazy with my music again! There’s still plenty more from me to come this year.
