The progress has been going slow lately, but with a burst of inspiration, I’m continuing the composition of the songs at full strength again. Before, I’ve gotten rather lazy and I haven’t really worked on the album in a couple of months. So far, nine songs have been started specifically for the purpose of the album, and about 5 of them are finished. I may add more, but this is the amount of songs planned to be on the album so far. Also, I hate to say it, but I’m afraid that due to my trip, I won’t be releasing til next year. (FUCK!) I’ll still be able to work on the songs while I’m there, but I won’t have any of my instruments for recording. Luckily, the trip was shortened to December 🙂
That’s all I can really say for now, though I’d like to continue this post with a previous Facebook-only update I posted a few months ago.

I’m trying my best to add vocal melodies to more songs, so not all of the tracks will be full of growling, like “Winter’s Dominion.”
I’m using all the same equipment that I used to record “Winter’s Dominion”, and the sounds of the orchestrations for the new album sound very much alike. I’m also throwing in new “synthy” stuff into the mix as well, kind of like how I did for my “Land of the Dead” cover.
I’m also more vocally experienced than I was during the recording of the last EP. In fact, The vocals for the songs will sound a lot more like the vocals I did for my “Ravenser” cover, which had a completely different sound from the EP’s vocals (which was almost like heavily distorted whispers.)
The guitars have also had an upgrade in sound. I assure you, they sound fucking awesome.
Another new aspect I’ll be adding to “The Final Journey” is a much more developed “bassy” end to the tracks. In “Winter’s Dominion”, I just used a second, lower pitched symphonic track, which served as the bass. Now I’ve actually bought a bass guitar, and I’ve already learned how to make it sound good in the recordings.
